Surah Al-Baqarah (2:201)

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana atina fi’d-dunya hasanatan wa fi’l-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ‘adhab an-nar

Translation:

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.

Benefits:

This comprehensive dua covers all aspects of life – worldly success, spiritual success, and protection from hellfire. It’s one of the most complete prayers.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
Transliteration:

Rabbana la tu’akhidhna in nasina aw akhta’na

Translation:

Our Lord, do not take us to account if we forget or make a mistake.

Benefits:

Seeking Allah’s mercy for human errors and forgetfulness. Allah has accepted this prayer as mentioned in hadith.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا
Transliteration:

Rabbana wa la tahmil ‘alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘ala’lladhina min qablina

Translation:

Our Lord, and do not place upon us a burden as You placed upon those before us.

Benefits:

Asking Allah not to burden us with difficult tests like previous nations. Shows humility and seeking ease.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana wa la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bih

Translation:

Our Lord, and do not burden us with that which we have no ability to bear.

Benefits:

Seeking Allah’s mercy to not be tested beyond our capacity. Allah promises He doesn’t burden souls beyond their ability.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)

رَبَّنَا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana wa’fu ‘anna waghfir lana warhamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘ala’l-qawm al-kafirin

Translation:

Our Lord, and pardon us and forgive us and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:8)

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Transliteration:

Rabbana la tuzigh qulubana ba’da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta’l-wahhab

Translation:

Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:9)

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana innaka jami’u’n-nasi li yawmin la rayba fih inna’llaha la yukhliful mi’ad

Translation:

Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.

Benefits:

Acknowledgment of the Day of Judgment and Allah’s truthfulness. Increases consciousness of the afterlife.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:16)

رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana innana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana wa qina ‘adhab an-nar

Translation:

Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:53)

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana amanna bima anzalta wattaba’na’r-rasula faktubna ma’a’sh-shahidin

Translation:

Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and we have followed the messenger, so register us among the witnesses.

Affirming faith in divine revelation and following the Prophet. Asking to be counted among the righteous witnesses.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:147)

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbanagh fir lana dhunubana wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna ‘ala’l-qawm al-kafirin

Translation:

Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:191)

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan subhanaka faqina ‘adhab an-nar

Translation:

Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Recognition of Allah’s wisdom in creation and seeking protection from hellfire. Shows deep contemplation of creation.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:192)

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ
Transliteration:

Rabbana innaka man tudkhil an-nara faqad akhzaytahu wa ma li’z-zalimina min ansar

Translation:

Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire – You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.

Benefits:

Acknowledgment of Allah’s justice and the consequences of wrongdoing. Increases fear of Allah and repentance.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:193)

رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا
Transliteration:

Rabbana innana sami’na munadiyan yunadi li’l-imani an aminu bi rabbikum fa amanna

Translation:

Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, saying, ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed.

Benefits:

Response to divine guidance and declaration of faith. Shows gratitude for being guided to Islam.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:194)

رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir ‘anna sayyi’atina wa tawaffana ma’a’l-abrar

Translation:

Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.

Benefits:

Prayer for forgiveness and a righteous death in good company. Essential dua for spiritual purification.

Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:195)

رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana wa atina ma wa’adtana ‘ala rusulika wa la tukhzina yawm al-qiyamati innaka la tukhlif al-mi’ad

Translation:

Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in promise.

Seeking fulfillment of Allah’s promises and honor on Judgment Day. Shows trust in Allah’s truthfulness.

Surah Al-A’raf (7:23)

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakūnanna min al-khasirin

Translation:

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

Benefits:

The repentance of Adam and Hawwa. Perfect for acknowledging mistakes and seeking Allah’s mercy. Highly recommended for tawbah.

Surah Al-A’raf (7:89)

رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana iftah baynana wa bayna qawmina bil-haqqi wa anta khayr al-fatihin

Translation:

Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision.

Benefits:

Seeking Allah’s judgment in disputes and trusting His perfect justice. Useful during conflicts and seeking truth.

Surah Yunus (10:85-86)

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana la taj’alna fitnatan li’l-qawm az-zalimina wa najjina bi rahmatika min al-qawm al-kafirin

Translation:

Our Lord, make us not a trial for the wrongdoing people and save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.

Benefits:

Protection from being a source of temptation for others and salvation from oppressors. Guidance for righteous living.

Surah Ibrahim (14:35)

رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَٰذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ الْأَصْنَامَ
Transliteration:

Rabbi aj’al hadha’l-balada aminan wajnubni wa baniyya an na’bud al-asnam

Translation:

My Lord, make this city secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.

Benefits:

Ibrahim’s prayer for Makkah and protection from idolatry. Excellent for parents seeking protection for their children from shirk.

Surah Ibrahim (14:38)

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
Transliteration:

Rabbana innaka ta’lamu ma nukhfi wa ma nu’lin wa ma yakhfa ‘ala’llahi min shay’in fi’l-ardi wa la fi’s-sama

Translation:

Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare. And nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven.

Benefits:

Acknowledgment of Allah’s complete knowledge. Encourages honesty and consciousness that Allah knows all our thoughts and actions.

Surah Ibrahim (14:40)

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
Transliteration:

Rabbi aj’alni muqim as-salati wa min dhurriyyati rabbana wa taqabbal du’a

Translation:

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

Ibrahim’s prayer for consistency in salah for himself and his offspring. Excellent dua for parents and establishing regular prayer.

Surah Ibrahim (14:41)

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Transliteration:

Rabbanagh fir li wa li walidayya wa li’l-mu’minina yawma yaqum al-hisab

Translation:

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.

Benefits:

Comprehensive prayer for forgiveness on Judgment Day including parents and all believers. Shows care for family and ummah.

Surah Al-Isra (17:80)

رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا
Transliteration:

Rabbi adkhilni mudkhala sidqin wa akhrijni mukhraja sidqin waj’al li min ladunka sultanan nasira

Translation:

My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.

Prayer for honorable beginnings and endings in all endeavors, with divine support. Great for new ventures and travels.

Surah Al-Kahf (18:10)

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
Transliteration:

Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wa hayyi’ lana min amrina rashada

Translation:

Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.

Benefits:

Prayer of the youth of the cave seeking mercy and guidance. Perfect for seeking divine direction in difficult situations.

Surah Maryam (19:4)

رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُن بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
Transliteration:

Rabbi inni wahana’l-‘azmu minni washta’ala’r-ra’su shaiban wa lam akun bi du’a’ika rabbi shaqiyya

Translation:

My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.

Benefits:

Zakariya’s humble prayer acknowledging old age while expressing faith in Allah’s response. Good for elderly and seeking Allah’s favor.

Surah Maryam (19:6)

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
Transliteration:

Rabbi hab li min ladunka waliyyan yarithu-ni wa yarithu min ali ya’qub waj’alhu rabbi radiyya

Translation:

My Lord, grant me from Yourself an heir who will inherit from me and inherit from the family of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing.

Benefits:

Zakariya’s prayer for righteous offspring. Excellent dua for those seeking children and for righteous progeny.

Surah Ta-Ha (20:25-28)

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Transliteration:

Rabbi’shrah li sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul ‘uqdatan min lisani yafqahu qawli

Translation:

My Lord, expand for me my breast and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.

Benefits:

Musa’s prayer before facing Pharaoh. Perfect for confidence, clear communication, and success in important tasks or presentations.

Surah Al-Anbiya (21:83)

رَبِّ إِنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbi inni massaniya’d-durru wa anta arham ar-rahimin

Translation:

My Lord, indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the most merciful of the merciful.

Benefits:

Ayyub’s prayer during severe trials. Most powerful dua for relief from any hardship, illness, or difficulty. Highly recommended during tough times.

Surah Al-Anbiya (21:87)

لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Transliteration:

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu min az-zalimin

Translation:

There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.

Benefits:

Yunus’s prayer from inside the whale. Most powerful for relief from distress and getting out of seemingly impossible situations.

Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:26)

رَبِّ انصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Transliteration:

Rabbi’nsurni bima kadhdhabun

Translation:

My Lord, support me because they have denied me.

Benefits:

Nuh’s prayer when his people rejected him. Seeking Allah’s help when facing rejection or opposition for standing for truth.

Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:97-98)

رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
Transliteration:

Rabbi a’udhu bika min hamazat ash-shayatin wa a’udhu bika rabbi an yahdhurun

Translation:

My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.

Benefits:

Protection from Satan’s whispers and presence. Essential for spiritual protection and maintaining pure thoughts and actions.

Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:109)

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbana amanna faghfir lana warhamna wa anta khayr ar-rahimin

Translation:

Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.

Surah Al-Furqan (25:65)

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
Transliteration:

Rabbana’srif ‘anna ‘adhab jahannam inna ‘adhabaha kana gharama

Translation:

Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering.

Surah Al-Furqan (25:74)

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Transliteration:

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a’yunin waj’alna li’l-muttaqina imama

Translation:

Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.

Benefits:

Perfect dua for married couples and families. Seeks righteous spouses and children who bring joy, and to be role models for others.

Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:83)

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbi hab li hukman wa alhiqni bi’s-salihin

Translation:

My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.

Benefits:

Ibrahim’s prayer for wisdom and joining the righteous. Excellent for seeking leadership qualities and righteous company.

Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:86)

وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ
Transliteration:

Waghfir li abi innahu kana min ad-dallin

Translation:

And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.

Benefits:

Ibrahim’s prayer for his father’s forgiveness. Shows mercy and concern for family members who may be on the wrong path.

Surah An-Naml (27:19)

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ
Transliteration:

Rabbi awzi’ni an ashkura ni’mataka’llati an’amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala walidayya wa an a’mala salihan tardahu

Translation:

My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve.

Surah Al-Qasas (28:16)

رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي
Transliteration:

Rabbi inni zalamtu nafsi faghfir li

Translation:

My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.

Benefits:

Musa’s immediate repentance after making a mistake. Perfect for quick acknowledgment of sins and seeking immediate forgiveness.

Surah Al-Qasas (28:21)

رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Transliteration:

Rabbi najjini min al-qawm az-zalimin

Translation:

My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.

Benefits:

Musa’s prayer when fleeing from Pharaoh’s people. Essential for protection from oppressors and unjust people.

Surah Al-Qasas (28:24)

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Transliteration:

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqir

Translation:

My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.

Benefits:

Musa’s humble prayer expressing complete dependence on Allah for all good. Perfect dua for expressing need and humility before Allah.
