Glory is to Him Who has provided this for us though we could never have had it by our efforts. Surely, unto our Lord we are returning.

Allaahumma innaa nas’aluka fee safarinaa haathal-birra wattaqwaa, wa minal-‘amali maa tardhaa. Allaahumma hawwin ‘alaynaa safaranaa haathaa watwi ‘annaa bu’dahu. Allaahumma Antas-saahibu fis-safari, wal-khaleefatu fil-ahli.
Meaning:
O Allah, we ask You on this our journey for goodness and piety, and for works that are pleasing to You. O Allah, lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us. O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in Whose care we leave our family.
Step 4: Seek Protection from Travel Hardships
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ، وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ
Transliteration:
Allaahumma innee a’oothu bika min wa’thaa’is-safari, wa ka’aabanil-mandhhari, wa soo’il-munqalabi fil-maali wal-ahli.
Meaning:
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from seeing distressing sights, and from finding our family and property in misfortune upon returning.

Before Starting Journey:
“In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.”
Upon Boarding Vehicle:
“Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest!
Glory be to Him Who has made this (vehicle) subservient to us, and we could not have accomplished this by ourselves. And surely, to our Lord we shall return.
O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness, piety, and deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten the distance. O Allah, You are the Companion during the journey and the Guardian of our family back home.
O Allah, I seek Your protection from the difficulties of travel, from witnessing distressing sights, and from returning to find misfortune in my family and wealth.”
Safar Ki Dua in Hindi (सफर की दुआ हिंदी में)
यात्रा शुरू करने से पहले:
बिस्मिल्लाह, तवक्कल्तु अलल्लाह, व ला हौला व ला कुव्वता इल्ला बिल्लाह
अर्थ: अल्लाह के नाम से, मैंने अल्लाह पर भरोसा किया। अल्लाह के सिवा कोई शक्ति और ताकत नहीं है।
वाहन में सवार होते समय:
तीन बार कहें:
अल्लाहु अकबर! अल्लाहु अकबर! अल्लाहु अकबर!
अर्थ: अल्लाह सबसे महान है! (तीन बार)
मुख्य सफर की दुआ (हिंदी अनुवाद):
सुब्हानल्लज़ी सख्खरा लना हाज़ा व मा कुन्ना लहू मुक़रिनीन। व इन्ना इला रब्बिना लमुनक़लिबून।
अर्थ:
पाक है वह (अल्लाह) जिसने इस सवारी को हमारे लिए मुसख्खर (अधीन) किया, और हम खुद इसे काबू में नहीं कर सकते थे। और निश्चय ही हम अपने रब की ओर लौटने वाले हैं।
अल्लाहुम्मा इन्ना नस्अलुका फी सफरिना हाज़ल-बिर्रा वत्तक़्वा, व मिनल-अमलि मा तर्ज़ा। अल्लाहुम्मा हव्विन अलैना सफरना हाज़ा वत्वि अन्ना बु’दहू। अल्लाहुम्मा अन्तस्साहिबु फिस्सफरि, वल-खलीफतु फिल-अहलि।
अर्थ:
ऐ अल्लाह! हम तुझसे इस सफर में नेकी, तक़्वा (परहेज़गारी) और ऐसे कर्म मांगते हैं जो तुझे पसंद हों। ऐ अल्लाह! इस सफर को हमारे लिए आसान कर दे और इसकी दूरी को कम कर दे। ऐ अल्लाह! तू ही सफर में साथी है और घर वालों का निगरान है।
अल्लाहुम्मा इन्नी अऊज़ु बिका मिन वअसाइस्सफरि, व काआबतिल-मनज़रि, व सूइल-मुनक़लबि फिल-माली वल-अहलि।
अर्थ:
ऐ अल्लाह! मैं तेरी पनाह मांगता हूं सफर की तकलीफों से, दुःखद दृश्यों को देखने से, और लौटकर परिवार और संपत्ति में मुसीबत पाने से।
Safar Ki Dua in Urdu (سفر کی دعا اردو میں)
سفر شروع کرنے سے پہلے:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
ترجمہ: اللہ کے نام سے، میں نے اللہ پر بھروسہ کیا۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی طاقت اور قوت نہیں۔
سواری پر سوار ہوتے وقت:
تین بار کہیں:
اَللّٰهُ أَکْبَرُ! اَللّٰهُ أَکْبَرُ! اَللّٰهُ أَکْبَرُ!
معنی: اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے! (تین بار)
مکمل سفر کی دعا (اردو ترجمہ):
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِی سَخَّرَ لَنَا هٰذَا وَمَا کُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِیْنَ وَإِنَّا إِلٰی رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ
ترجمہ:
پاک ہے وہ (اللہ) جس نے اس سواری کو ہمارے لیے مسخر (تابع) کیا، اور ہم خود اس پر قابو نہیں پا سکتے تھے۔ اور بیشک ہم اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُکَ فِیْ سَفَرِنَا هٰذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوٰی، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضٰی، اَللّٰهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَیْنَا سَفَرَنَا هٰذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ، اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِی السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِیْفَةُ فِی الْأَهْلِ
ترجمہ:
اے اللہ! ہم اس سفر میں تجھ سے نیکی، تقویٰ اور ایسے اعمال مانگتے ہیں جو تجھے پسند ہوں۔ اے اللہ! اس سفر کو ہمارے لیے آسان فرما دے اور اس کی دوری کو کم کر دے۔ اے اللہ! تو ہی سفر میں ساتھی ہے اور گھر والوں کا نگہبان ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّیْ أَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَکَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ، وَسُوْءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِی الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ

اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں سفر کی تکالیف سے، غمگین مناظر دیکھنے سے، اور واپسی پر اہل و مال میں مصیبت پانے سے۔

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Transliteration: Bismillah

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ مَجْرِىٰهَا وَمُرْسَىٰهَآ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
Transliteration: Bismi-llāhi majrāhā wa mursāhā, inna Rabbī la-Ghafūrur-Raḥīm.
Meaning: In the Name of Allah, by which it sails and anchors. Indeed, my Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

3. When Ascending (Going Uphill)
اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Transliteration: Allahu Akbar
Meaning: Allah is the Greatest

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
Transliteration: A’uzu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq
Meaning: I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

6. Dua as Dawn Approaches During Travel
سَمِعَ سَامِعٌ بِحَمْدِ اللّٰهِ، وَحُسْنِ بَلَائِهِ عَلَيْنَا، رَبَّنَا صَاحِبْنَا، وَأَفْضِلْ عَلَيْنَا، عَائِذًا بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ النَّارِ
Transliteration: Sami’a saami’un bihamdillaahi wa husni balaa’ihi ‘alaynaa. Rabbanaa saahibnaa, wa afdhil ‘alaynaa ‘aa’idhan billaahi minan-naar.
Meaning: May the one who hears, hear that we praise Allah for the good He has granted us. Our Lord, be with us and bestow Your favor upon us. I seek Allah’s protection from the Fire.

7. Upon Arriving at Your Destination
رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbi anzilnī munzalān mubārakān wa anta khayru-l-munzilīn.
Meaning: My Lord, let me land in a blessed landing place, for You are the Best to cause landing.
[Surah Al-Mu’minun, 23:29]
